About Me
I am an agile project leader, community advocate, and creative strategist who thrives at the crossroads of structure and imagination. Throughout my career, I’ve worn a lot of hats … I’ve scaled a cultural convention from a localized gathering into a massive 10,000+ attendee event, built and advised brands from the ground up, and facilitated safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community.
While these spaces might seem completely different on the surface, they all share a singular, driving heartbeat: bringing people together, building inclusive spaces, and solving complex problems with an artistic flare.
What I Bring to the Table
Creative Direction & Strategy: As the founder of Rowan Kay Creative, I’ve spent over two decades helping businesses and nonprofits discover their voice, build their brand architecture, and connect authentically with their audiences. I approach every project with an eye for visual storytelling and functional aesthetics.
Large-Scale Operations & Event Magic: I know what it takes to turn a blank canvas into a massive, thriving experience. For fifteen years, I served as the Director of Tokyo in Tulsa, scaling the convention from 1,200 attendees to a vibrant community of over 10,000, while managing a staff of 400+ volunteers. I love the thrill of logistical puzzle-solving, budgeting, and cross-functional leadership.
Community Care & Inclusive Facilitation: Creating spaces where people feel safe, heard, and seen is deeply personal to me. Whether managing the Gender Support Program at Oklahomans for Equality or facilitating support groups at The Center of Long Beach, I bring active listening, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed practices to everything I do.
My Philosophy
I believe that the best work happens when empathy meets execution. Whether I’m designing a nonprofit fundraising campaign, organizing a complex public event, or mentoring a team, my goal is to foster psychological safety, champion diversity, and deliver high-impact results. I bring enthusiasm, structure, and a deep respect for human connection to every single room I step into.

You can usually find me exploring new ways to blend art and community engagement, keeping up with local advocacy efforts, or volunteering with community organizations.
